Sound Track, 22’33”
Hotel California, HD single channel video, 02’35”
Mancho River was covered with concrete in the 1970s and was trapped under the road. However, there is a trace of 300m tributary straightened by Japan in the US Yongsan military base, and the area registered as a part of California was planned to be returned from the US in 2019. I tried to access the memory of Mancho River with the different historical model by making a sound track: The song “Hotel California (1976)” is transformed and made into music video and popular songs in the 1930s with a mixture of Japanese, English, and Korean are added.
